How We Met

Love at first swipe

We met in June of 2020 on Tinder in the beginning of the COVID pandemic. It was a glitch we met in the first place because our radii did not overlap. We like to call fate! Our first date was going to each other's Animal Crossing Islands on our Nintendo Switches. We then proceeded to stay up chatting all night long on FaceTime. We quickly became so smitten with each other.

First time meeting in person

So because of Covid, we didn’t meet in person till July. Sam drove three hours down to Charlie’s parents house so we could have a socially distant picnic. Sam brought beers and ribeyes to make for dinner. We sat outside all afternoon talking and watching TV. We were supposed to be socially distancing the entire time but we snuck our first kiss and hugs in anyway.

Moving to California

We had been dating long distance for about 9 months when Charlie got a job offer in Modesto, California. He asked Sam to come with him, thinking that she’d say no and the relationship would be over. However, Sam said yes and they moved 2700 miles away together merely 2 weeks later. We later realized how important taking a chance in love is. You never know unless you try!

Our favorite things to do together

We love rollerskating, playing video games, going to hockey games, walks, traveling, building Legos, going out to eat, beer and wine tastings, and especially hanging out with our two cats, Pumpkin and Swiper!

Our favorite date (so far)

Before we moved back to Philadelphia, we wanted to see some of our favorite California beaches. We drove out to Santa Cruz and first went to Shark Fin cove. Which had the most amazing views. We then went to a state beach that was very quiet and had a seaside picnic. Afterwards, we found some local sour beers and pizza. We had a night cap strolling along the water, cliff sides, watching the sea lions sleep and play under the pier, and ended our day by getting homemade ice cream.
