Barnsley Resort

Barnsley is a beautiful, historic resort with many amenities and activities on-site including golf, a spa, shooting and archery, horseback riding, walking trails, canoeing, fishing, pickle ball, disc golf, and more. We love to walk the beautiful grounds and gardens and then grab a drink at the beer garden! Dining options on the property include Woodlands and Biergarten, both open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Downtown Rome, GA

Rome is where Caroline grew up! The charming downtown area is very walkable and full of fun shopping and restaurants. Some of our favorite local spots include Swift and Finch Coffee, Blossom Hill BBQ, Harvest Moon Cafe, Honey Moon Bakery, the Foundry, and Cosmic Dog Outpost. We also love to walk the Greenway along the rivers (https://romegeorgia.org/attraction/ecogreenway/).

Berry College

Berry College, located just a few miles from Caroline's family in Rome, is the largest college campus in the world - over 27,000 acres! The beautiful campus has many walking and hiking trails open to the public as well as the Oak Hill Museum where you can learn about the college's history. Our favorite trail is House of Dreams, a 4.5 mile round trip that takes you to the top of Lavender Mountain where you will find a historic cabin, gorgeous gardens, a swing and hammocks, and spectacular views. Other beautiful spots to visit on campus include the Ford Buildings, Frost Chapel, the Old Mill, and the reservoir.
