Things to Do

A few recommendations of our favorite spots on the peninsula, more to come!

Port Townsend

Port Townsend, WA

Victorian seaside town where Britta was born and raised. Lots of shops, excellent eateries, bars, and beaches abound. Our favorite establishments include: Hanazono Noodle - sushi and ramen, good and slow food Waterfront Pizza - sourdough pizza, a Port Townsend tradition Uptown Pub - a great dive bar, locals spot Velocity Coffee or Better Living Through Coffee - different from each other but both great The Pour House - outdoor beer garden on the water The Rose Theatre - Britta's first job (look for photos of her in the lobby!), excellent art house cinema, popcorn bar Pan D'Amore Bakery - bread, pastries, picnic supplies Aldrich's Market - Uptown's gem, local goods, groceries, gourmet snacks Hilllbottom Pie - sit down pizza, well loved Saturday Farmers Market (uptown Port Townsend) - A great market with lots of local farms and foods

Fort Worden Historical State Park

200 Battery Way East, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Great forest hiking, beaches, RV camping, and historic military fort. We like the Canteen and the Marine Science Center Museum and touch tanks! Be sure to explore the bunkers.

Port Townsend Film Festival

211 Taylor Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368

The annual Port Townsend Film Festival will be taking place over our wedding weekend, with outdoor movies and lots of great films, shorts, and talks to attend. This takes place in downtown Port Townsend, so it'll be bustling and accommodations and parking could be limited. We recommend getting lodging booked early because of this.

Chimacum

Chimacum, WA

A special farming community where Britta and Sam got their start as a couple and as farmers. Favorite Establishments: The Chimacum Corner Store - local produce, groceries, and treats Finnriver Cidery - ciders, orchards, and lots of special things. Join us for Welcome Drinks on Friday at Finnriver Red Dog Farmstand - Britta's first farming job, excellent produce at a self-serve store The Keg and I - the site of many after work beers, a great little taphouse

Olympic National Park and Hurricane Ridge

3002 Mount Angeles Road, Port Angeles, WA 98362

You can't beat the Olympics! If you have some time, explore: Hurricane Ridge - mountain views and tons of hiking, drive up to the lodge Ocean Beaches - 2nd Beach, Ruby Beach, and Salt Creek on the Straight are awesome Marymere Falls - waterfall hike, mossy trees, river Lake Crescent - gorgeous pristine lake, hike the Spruce Rail Trail, enjoy the Lake Crescent Lodge

For all the days along the way
