While our story is not a rom com, we do have a fun start like they do! Our moms have been besties since high school and before you think it, no, they did not make some weird pact to get pregnant and have their kids get married (at least..we don’t think they did!). Anyways, we have known each other our whole lives but did not become good friends until our early twenties, when we were in college. Through the years, our friendship has grown, and things finally switched to a romantic relationship when Adrian flew to Boston to help me drive back to Dallas. Our cross-country road trip is where our love story started.
Sam and Adrian have spent every Christmas evening, for the past 4 years, with their parents and siblings. Naturally, Sam was under the impression that Christmas of 2020 would be no different. Little did she know that everyone present knew Adrian was going to pop the question. After a long debate of whether to eat dinner or open presents, they decided presents were more important and gathered in the living room for Cindy (Sam’s mom) to begin passing out gifts. But Cindy was acting strange. Turns out Adrian could not contain his excitement anymore and signaled for Cindy to have Sam stand in front of the Christmas tree. Sam, doing as her mom told her to, stood up and awaited her gift. When she turned around, Adrian was on one knee, proposing. Sam, crying happy tears, struggled to get the words “Ofcourse” out. The rest of the evening was spent in true Lucero-Pacheco style; dancing and lots of Tequila!
This whole planning experience has been so humbling with all the love and support we have been shown from friends and family. So we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has helped us host our dream wedding. Thank you Tia Terry and Tio Johnny for making the bridal party proposal and day of gifts. Thank you Nina Lupe and Tio Ramon for so generously helping us with the florist. Thank you Tia Sukie and Tio Celso for providing the entertainment during the cocktail hour. A big shout out to our friends Kelly and Ryan for doing a bluebonnet engagement shoot with us just for fun, the pictures came out amazing. And FINALLY, a HUGE thank you to our parents, who are always there to support us. Because of all their help this wedding planning process has been so easy and stress free, we love you all! <3
