Question

Will there be parking available?

Answer

Ceremony: St Jude church has a large parking lot behind the church on West Street. The main address of the church is Front Street, when you approach St Jude on the corner of Front Street and River Road, turn onto River Road. West street will be your first right off River Road, continue straight and the parking lot will be on your right. Reception: The Guild has three parking lots. The first lot is located directly in front of The Guild, the second is on the corner of Bayley and Commerce Street behind The Guild, and the third is the Pawtucket Municipal Parking Lot. Street parking is available on Bayley and Main Street. We strongly encourage all guests to utilize Uber, Lyft, or Taxis to get to and from the reception.

Question

What to expect at a Catholic Church Wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony will be very similar to other celebrations of marriage. The Catholic sacrament of marriage normally takes place within the context of Mass, because the Eucharist/Communion both reflect and strengthen the bonds of love between the bride and groom. As a witness, you may actively assist in the wedding ceremony through words and actions that show your love and support for the couple. If you are not Catholic, this may be as simple as being a warm presence, participating in the words and actions of the wedding liturgy as you feel comfortable. Our priest, Father Bernie, will walk all guests through the mass and we will have programs available to help you follow along!

Question

What should guests do between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We anticipate the ceremony to end around 3:00pm. If you are not in the wedding party or immediate family, please use this time to check into your hotel, freshen up, or explore the area. Check out our "Things to do" page for our local suggestions! You can also make your way straight to The Guild and hang out in the tap room where you can sample their beers! Cocktail hour will begin at 5:00pm.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting semi-formal cocktail attire. Suit and floor length or cocktail dresses welcomed. Weather permitting, cocktail hour will be outdoors.

Question

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions or need other accommodations?

Answer

We have provided a space on your RSVP to list any dietary restrictions. We will then inform our caterer from there. Any other accommodations, please reach out to Adam or Sam and we will work with the appropriate party to ensure you will be able to fully experience the celebration!

Question

is there a room block?

Answer

Yes! We have reserved a room block at The Hampton Inn Pawtucket, which is the closest hotel to the reception. You can learn how to book to get our discounted rate on the Travel page. Guests can choose to check out hotels or airbnbs in Providence or the surrounding area.

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

We will certainly miss you! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible by responding "no" on the RSVP, so we can plan accordingly.
