After swiping right and two months of constant texts, calls, and FaceTimes, we finally decided to get together and officially meet face to face. We got each other our favorite Ben & Jerry's ice cream and met at Masons Mill Park. Four hours later felt like four minutes; the sun had set and the park was closed. After that first date, we couldn't wait to see each other again. Things just clicked, right away. It was only a few short days after on October 9, 2020, Jenn asked me to be her girlfriend with flowers and a Reese's Cup. We had spent the first few months together planning small dates out to restaurants, Christmas lights, and long car drives. Now, we are spending time together planning our wedding. We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together.
Jenn: "I had originally planned a very romantic beach picnic for our anniversary weekend at the Beach. The plan was to then get professional photos taken on the beach. But, Sam got great news that she was offered a new part-time coaching job as LaSalle University's Women's Golf Coach. I scrambled in a panic, not knowing if she would have to coach the weekend of our anniversary, so I cancelled the picnic. Instead, I carried the ring with me all around on Labor Day weekend. The weather was perfect that weekend, and a beautiful sunset was bound to happen. We took an after dinner walk with her cousins in West Wildwood, where we made it to the little beach. I was so nervous, but it was the perfect moment. We both cried. Sam: "We went down to Solomons Island ,Maryland for her PopPop's birthday. We got down there Friday night and just hung out with her extended family. When we woke up Saturday morning, I knew that it was going to be the day. I grabbed the ring box and put it into my camera bag to try and hide it the best I could. When we got to the house and everyone had eaten breakfast, a few of us decided to go into town for a food truck festival called Taste of St. Marys. While walking around the little town square, I showed her cousin, Colleen, the box and she was instantly excited and very happy to help. Once we got back to the house, it took me a minute to figure out how to get Jenn and her cousins down on the dock overlooking the river at the back of the house. Luckily Colleen stepped in and got the rest of cousins down on the dock for a group picture. After the cousins got their pictures, Jenn and I got pictures together. When all was said and done, before Jenn walked away, I lightly grabbed her arm and said I have a question to ask her... She said yes and here we are today."
