Riverhouse Airbnb

Sam and I stayed at the Riverhouse in June 2021. It's a wonderful old historic house with four Airbnb units inside of it. It overlooks the Animas River, you can walk to downtown, and it takes just 10 minutes to get to the Nilsson family home via car. We highly recommend it as an affordable overnight option!

Durango-La Plata County Airport (DGO)

We recommend flying straight into Durango if you can. American Airlines and United Airlines both offer flight to DGO with layovers in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Denver (DEN) and Phoenix (PHX).

If you'd rather fly into Denver, expect about a 6-hour drive to Durango. (Don't worry, it's stunning.)
