Check out main beach for the quintessential Laguna "beach day" feel. Rusty took Sam here to see the sunset when Sam was first visiting OC.
Great place for mojitos and light appetizers, with a nice view over the ocean. Rusty took Sam here when she was first visiting OC, and she frequented the Happy Hour here the first few years she was living in OC.
Looking for something sweet? Stop in at Paradiso Gelato for a little dessert before the reception. Rusty loves the tiramisu, and Sam is all about the pistachio...but you really can't go wrong with anything they have. Try them all!
Need a pick me up? Check out BLK Dot coffee on your way to the reception for great coffee in North Laguna. They're open until 5.
Stop by for a nice walk along the beach. Sam has taken several Marine Bio classes on field trips in the waters around this Marine Protected Area. Note that there is a fee for parking.
Another option for coffee or a sweet before the reception. This cute cafe is along PCH in Corona Del Mar.
Best. Cupcakes. Ever. Rusty and Sam both love the Red Velvet (but let's be real...any flavor is amazing!). There's ice cream next door too ;)
Want to take the scenic route to get to the American Legion? Take left at Jamboree and go across the bridge to Balboa. Stop for a famous Balboa Bay Bar or just take a nice drive down the Main Street, then take the Ferry across to the Newport Peninsula.
If you took the Ferry, stop by the fun zone and take a stroll through this promenade in Newport Beach. You can walk across the street to take a gander of the pier, and even stop at Cabo Cantina for a nice margarita.
Nothing else appeal to you? Come early and take a walk along the water. You can't go wrong at any of the other streets, but this one is steps away from the American Legion, which is on the other side of the peninsula along the harbor.
