Liv and Evan’s story began in October of 2017… at the mall of all places. Introduced by a mutual friend, Liv still swears she’ll never forget the moment she looked into Evan’s eyes — her favorite feature — and thought, “oh… I’m in trouble.” And she was right. Even at just 13 years old, they both felt it — that little spark they still call *“zing.”* What started with texts and FaceTime calls quickly turned into something neither of them ever questioned. When Evan asked Liv to be his girlfriend, she didn’t hesitate for a second… obviously. Their first date? Busch Gardens in Tampa — a place that quickly became their place. Between rides, laughter, and a now very sentimental photo booth tradition, it became a core memory they’d revisit again and again. From that point on, they were inseparable. Endless FaceTimes (sometimes just sitting there in silence… as background noise — their families still don’t get it ), daily texts, and constant hangouts became their normal. Whether it was CiCi’s Pizza dates, Rick’s dinners, movie nights, Riverwalk strolls, or just being together at home… nothing ever felt boring as long as they had each other. Very quickly, Liv and Evan didn’t just fall in love — they became family. From dancing together at Evan’s bar mitzvah to becoming part of each other’s everyday lives, their worlds blended effortlessly. Liv gained three brothers, Evan gained a deep love for animals (especially his best buddy, Rhino the chiweenie ), and together they built one big, beautiful family. In 2020, they spent their first major holiday together in Tennessee for Christmas — a place that would later become so much more than just a visit. Then came 2021, when life tested them with long distance after Evan moved to New York. But if there’s one thing about these two — distance was never going to be stronger than their love. Through busy schedules, constant calls, and making time no matter what, they proved that what they had was real. Evan even came back to Florida for prom — where they showed up looking absolutely stunning in red — and ended the night the best way possible… 2am Waffle House, of course. Not long after, Evan realized something pretty important — life just wasn’t the same without Liv by his side every day. So… he fixed that. He moved back, and shortly after, the two got their very first place together. But before they officially moved in, Evan had one more surprise. After a casual drive, they ended up at the Tampa Bay Humane Society. And Liv had a thought… “okay wait… this man might actually be the one.” They left with their 3-month-old pitbull puppy, Hazel — who immediately became a full-blown daddy’s girl (and yes… Liv is still a little jealous ). After building a life together in Florida, Evan wanted even more for their little family. So he made a bold move — heading to Tennessee to build a better future. He worked hard, learned everything he could, and a year later… he brought Liv and Hazel home. Together, they picked out a house and turned it into something even better — a home. With love, hard work, and a whole lot of teamwork, they began creating the life they had always dreamed of. But of course… Evan had one more big step planned. On February 14th, 2026, the two went hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains. After a little while, Evan pulled Liv aside to a beautiful creek, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend forever with him. And just like the first time… She didn’t hesitate. Now, they’re continuing to build their life together — side by side, stronger than ever — as they begin their next chapter… Becoming the Saltzers!
