Welcome BBQ (October 10th) Fancy fringe & denim. Wear your best denim, your best fringe and a cowboy hat to boot. We will be serenaded by a local blue & country band all night, so wear your best dancin' boots for a two-stepping good time. Wedding Day (October 11th) Imagine an evening filled with great people, smooth music and delicious food. We want people to wear whatever makes them feel gorgeous (feathers? yes. sequins? yes. a gown? yes. a white gown? maybe not, but let Sally know. a tuxedo? yes. cowboy boots and a bolo tie? yes. a Hawaiian shirt? no. never.) In our mind, the evening is colourful, eclectic, fun and with a hint of frivolous formality. For those of you coming in from Vancouver, you will need to take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale. From there, it's about a 1.5-hour drive up to the venue. Currently, the ferries are completely reserved for the way to Langdale. That's not too much of a problem. If you do not have a reservation on a ferry and still need to travel up to Langdale, please make sure you arrive AT LEAST 2 hours ahead of the scheduled time of departure for the ferry. If you have a reservation, make sure you arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of your scheduled booking time to catch your reservation!
Yes - we will be hosting a welcome barbecue on Friday, October 10th at ~5 PM at the Wilderness Lodge. There will be games, a live band, a bonfire and good times!
There are only really two hotels in Egmont: the West Coast Wilderness Lodge and the Backeddy Resort & Marina. We have already allocated rooms, if you have not paid for a room or have not been allocated a room, please reach out to us! If you are staying in a camper, please let us know. The Wilderness Lodge is wedding event venue, so it's easy! Unfortunately, it's not large enough to host everyone so some people will have to stay down the road. The Backeddy Resort & Marina is a super cute resort with a range of accommodations, including mini a-frame cabins (with wood-burning stoves) and oceanfront cabins. It's a 5-7 minute walk from the wedding venue, so easy access. There are also Airbnb available in Egmont that are super cute and very close to the venue.
