Sally and Emry met on a hiking trip to the Smoky Mountains in February of 2021. Sally likes to joke that it was love at first sight, between Emry and her dog, Cooper. After the trip ended, Emry came to visit Sally in Roanoke, where they spent time getting to know each other. With Cooper’s help and the insistence of Sally’s sister, Li-Or, Emry convinced Sally to give him a chance. Sally responded by immediately throwing him into the fire and bringing him to her brother’s wedding just one week after they started dating. Shoutout to Roy and Cate for graciously allowing a brand-new boyfriend to crash the family festivities! Emry survived the trial by wedding, and since then, the two have been inseparable. Over the years, they’ve shared many adventures, the biggest being Sally’s journey through medical school. Along the way, they’ve traveled together to Mexico, the Caribbean, Israel, and Amsterdam. In 2024, they grew their family again when Freddie joined the crew. Now, Sally and Emry are returning to the place where it all began. They will be getting married in the Smoky Mountains on their five-year-and-one-day anniversary, just before starting their next big adventure together.
