FAQs

Question

🤍

Answer

WHAT IS THE LOCATION & SETTING OF THE WEDDING? Weather Permitting, our wedding will be an outdoor evening celebration on an actual working farm—think DIY Backyard Wedding with a beautiful, rustic view. After the wedding ceremony, we’ll be celebrating by candlelight with dinner, music, and dancing under the open sky for a relaxed but elegant evening. *Side note. Being out in the country, we’re also near train tracks—so if a train passes through, we’ll just roll with it as part of the evening. 😆

Question

🤍

Answer

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? We invite our guests to dress in semi-formal or cocktail attire. Our colors are pink and green, so we’d love to see shades of pinks and greens if you’d like to join in—but really, we just want you to wear whatever colors make you feel comfortable, confident, and your best! The ceremony and reception will likely take place outdoors on grass and natural terrain, so please keep that in mind when choosing footwear. If you plan to wear heels, you may want to bring a second pair of shoes for walking or dancing. And cowboy boots are absolutely welcome!

Question

🤍

Answer

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEDDING EVENING? 6:30 PM — Guest Arrival 7:00 PM — Ceremony Begins Immediately Following Ceremony — Refreshments & Seating 7:45 PM — Dinner Served Evening — Dancing & Celebration

Question

🤍

Answer

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE? 6:30—We recommend arriving about 30 minutes before the wedding to give yourself time to park, walk to the ceremony area, and take in the beauty of the farm before things begin.

Question

🤍

Answer

WHERE SHOULD I PARK? Please follow posted signs and directions when you arrive. Parking may be in a field and could involve a short walk to the ceremony area. We’re still finalizing details, but we’ll make sure everything is clearly marked!

Question

🤍

Answer

ARE THERE RESTROOMS ON SITE? Yes! Since this is a backyard-style wedding, restrooms will be located inside the home. If the celebration is moved to the barn due to weather, there is also an indoor area of the barn with restrooms available.

Question

🤍

Answer

IS SELAH HILLS A WEDDING VENUE? Selah Hills is not a traditional wedding venue, but we’re so excited to transform it into a special place for our celebration. Who knows—maybe we’ll be the first of many weddings to take place there. 😉

Question

🤍

Answer

WHAT IS SELAH HILLS? Selah Hills is a 200-acre family farm owned and operated by Dr. Nathan and Stephanie Neufeld and their seven children—some of our family’s closest friends. It is home to horses, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and pigs, and also serves as a homeschool co-op that my siblings attend. Known for its lively barn dances and welcoming community, Selah Hills is a place full of joy and hospitality. The Neufeld family has been a huge blessing to us, and we’re so grateful to celebrate our wedding on their farm!

Question

🤍

Answer

DO I NEED TO ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION? Yes—Selah Hills Farm is in a rural area, so we recommend planning your transportation in advance if needed. Ride-share services like Uber or Lyft may be limited or unavailable, especially later in the evening. If you’re coming from out of town or prefer not to drive, we suggest arranging a ride ahead of time or renting a car to ensure a smooth trip to and from the venue. Carpooling is also a great option if possible!

Question

🤍

Answer

WILL GPS WORK / HOW WILL I FIND THE VENUE? Cell service can be spotty in the area, so we recommend mapping out your route in advance. Apple Maps is typically reliable for getting you to the correct location, but just in case, keep an eye out for our wedding sign near the main road to help guide you in.

Question

🤍

Answer

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF RAIN OR BAD WEATHER? If weather becomes an issue, both the ceremony and reception will be moved to a large barn on the property so we can still celebrate comfortably.

Question

🤍

Answer

WHEN WILL DINNER BE SERVED? Since our ceremony will begin later in the evening (7:00 PM), we plan to serve dinner shortly afterward—by 7:45–8:00 PM. There should be a little time in between to grab refreshments, take photos, sign the guest book, and find your seat at the table!

Question

🤍

Answer

WILL ALCOHOL BE SERVED? We are still finalizing details, but at this time the wedding will be a dry event. We’ll update this page with any changes as plans are confirmed. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

🤍

Answer

IS THIS AN UNPLUGGED WEDDING? Not at all—we’d LOVE for you to take lots of photos and videos throughout the evening and share them with us! We’ll even have a fun photo scavenger hunt to make it interactive.

Question

🤍

Answer

HOW BIG IS THE WEDDING? This will be a small, intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. We’re so grateful you’ll be part of it and appreciate your flexibility as we bring everything together.
