Our Story (according to Lizz!): It all started at a music retreat in the mountains. Daniel found out that Lizz was a missionary at Indiana University where he had been a student, so they had mutual connections. They enjoyed getting to know each other, but Daniel knew Lizz was fun when they danced together for the first time. Lizz also couldn't stop smiling because she couldn't believe how much Daniel could move his hips.
The following spring at a recruitment event, Daniel was interested in Lizz and thought he was making it obvious that he was interested. Lizz on the other hand, did not pick up what he was putting down. Daniel felt confident in asking Lizz on a date so he went up to her, tapped her on the shoulder, almost blacked out, and asked her on a date. Lizz did not see it coming, but responded "Sure!"
Daniel drove 4 hours to Bloomington during his spring break to take Lizz on a date, which Lizz was flattered by. They made a meal together (where Daniel cooked the meat perfectly), went out for coffee, and realized they loved talking to one another.
After spending a weekend getting to know each other in Chicago, they knew they wanted to date each other. So Sunday, after mass, in the rain, Daniel asked Lizz to be his girlfriend. She, of course, responded.... YES!
The relationship consisted of many trips back and forth between Bloomington and Chicago and lots of *Google Meets* calls. They kept learning more about each other and slowly coming to realize that they wanted to do life with each other forever.
After careful planning, Daniel took Lizz back to Queen of All Saints Basilica in Chicago. This was the place Lizz had known that she loved Daniel. They went to mass, prayed, and then Daniel escorted Lizz up to the front of the church where he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes many times while jumping up and down alot. Daniel also surprised Lizz by inviting her family up to Chicago to celebrate along with his family.
After Daniel and Lizz get married, they will continue to serve as missionaries together at Indiana University.
