Victoria Memorial is a beautiful landmark with grand architecture and large green gardens. It has a museum that tells the story of Kolkata during the British era, with art and historical displays. It’s a calm and pleasant place to visit and a great way to experience the old charm of the city. Also, very close to the wedding venue. It’s open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but the museum galleries are closed on Mondays and national holidays. Tickets for the museum are approximately ₹500 for foreign visitors. The garden area is open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a separate, lower entry fee of about ₹30 per person. A light-and-sound show is also available in the evenings for an additional ticket.

Prinsep Ghat, built in 1841, is a heritage site featuring an elegant monument with Greek and Gothic architectural details, named after James Prinsep. Open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, it offers picturesque views of the Hooghly River and the Vidyasagar Setu bridge, with opportunities for strolling or sunset boat rides offering iconic views of the Hooghly River and the illuminated Vidyasagar Setu (Second Hooghly Bridge) as dusk settles. Few minutes drive from the wedding venue.
New Market (Hogg Market) is one of the city’s most iconic shopping destinations, established in 1874 during the British era. It’s a lively, bustling market where you can find almost anything, clothes, accessories, electronics, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs, often at very affordable prices. The market can get extremely crowded, so be cautious of pickpockets and expect to bargain for the best deals. If the crowd feels overwhelming, you can explore Gariahat Market, which is slightly less busy, or visit one of Kolkata’s large malls such as South City Mall, Quest Mall, or Acropolis for a more relaxed shopping experience. One of Kolkata’s most famous streets, dating back to the British colonial era, just a short distance from our wedding venue. It has beautiful old buildings with charming colonial architecture. Park Street is known for its iconic eateries like Flurys (bakery and tea), Peter Cat (chelo kebab), and Mocambo (continental and seafood), Trincas (Jazz music and continental food). Don't forget to try the all time famous Kolkata Kathi Roll from Kusum Roll. At night, the street comes alive with bars and clubs like Someplace Else, Tantra, and The Myx. A walk here is a perfect mix of old-world charm and lively city vibes.
