Cartagena de Indias has tropical charm and colonial enchantment. The historic Old Town is surrounded by 13 km of centuries-old colonial stone walls that are beautifully preserved. It was one of the main ports of entry to the West Indies. The cobblestone streets are filled with colonial-style homes with balconies showing off the natural tropical foliage and flowers of the Colombian Caribbean coast.
