Kicking off the week with a bang! Literally with a start gun and everything for the Twin Cities Marathon! We'd love for you to run with us, but there are many other ways to show up. One of the best things about a marathon is supporters with signs. Our home is about 3/4 mile from the parkway - right around mile 18 of the race. So come out and cheer, arm yourself with a Bloody Mary or cup of coffee, and enjoy the most beautiful urban marathon in the country with us! The important backstory here is that when we moved to Minneapolis, Nina had only ever experienced the Twin Cities while running the marathon during a perfect fall weekend and visiting for a beautiful, spring Mothers Day trip. Hannah might have underplayed the temperamental winters in between those seasons. After Hannah finally got Nina a very large, very warm parka, we can confidently say that we love calling this place home. The marathon feels like the perfect way for us to kick off this unforgettable week together.
Mon, Oct 5, 2026, 6:00 pm - Wed, Oct 7, 2026, 10:00 pm
Throughout the week we will indulge in some of our favorite activities around the Twin Cities! Join us for some or all; we just want to spend time with our favorite people!
7:00 pm
October 8th is technically Nina's 40th birthday, but if you know the lore, you know that this is kind of also Hannah's birthday too! So naturally, we are throwing a joint party to celebrate Nina, which hopefully involves the Lynx playing in the WNBA finals.
7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
En lieu of speeches and a formal rehearsal dinner, we want to bring all of our talented friends and family in community together to share stories, share talents, and enjoy each other's company! Don't worry, there will be proper space and equipment for your performance. Think of it as an open mic/Safolbafest variety show! Doors open at 7:00, and the show will begin promptly at 7:30pm! Dress casually and comfortably. Costumes encouraged for performances :)
9:30 am
This is the moment you’ll definitely know we’re married. Think less “aisle and altar” and more “a perfect fall morning in the Twin Cities.” We’ll gather in the park with coffee, baked treats, and the people we love most and say something that resembles an "I do".
7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
We’re closing out the day with a celebration worthy of the ’90s teen-movie soundtrack of your dreams. Expect good food, great vibes, and a dance floor you won't want to leave. We may be 40(ish), but we've still got moves!
10:00 am
A Gus-approved Sunday morning: pancakes, coffee, and outdoor games! Come refuel, reconnect, and savor the last moments of Safolbafest!
