Mother of the Bride
As a little girl Sadie was always enchanted with her mothers ability to sing in the car and her seemingly endless patience and forgiveness for the girls bickering in the back seat. On occasions when Sherry could no longer tolerate the two she would drop them a few kilometers from home and await their arrival back to the farm by foot. As adolescence turned to adulthood their relationship changed, whether Sadie being a little girl or grown adult, Sherry always remains a phone call away. Ready to leap into action as Sunday night dinner chef, fierce protector, relentless supporter and Sadie's number one fan. Sherry is a shopping buddy, lunch date, puppy sitter, fellow white wine drinker, listening ear and friend. Sadie couldn't imagine her big day without her mom.
Father of the Bride
As with any father- daughter relationship Bill is always there to offer advice on any mechanical or home improvement question a girl might ask. Most phone conversations based on explanations of how to jump a car, stop a toilet from over flowing or the colour of car oil. Being a man of few words, his words always resonate "Careful, you'll break your NECK!", or "Turn OFF the LIGHT!" have left a lasting impression on Sadie whenever she forgets a light, or does something one could deem dangerous. Never a doubt of paternity between Sadie and her father, both share uncommonly similar facial features, have word finding difficulty, elaborate swears, road rage and red wine tooth. Sadie hopes people won't confuse them on her big day.
Maid of Honor
By birthright, Maid of Honour would fall to Sadie's one and only sister. A tradition she would never consider breaking. They have been connected since the beginning of it all, 'Squid and Cyclops.' As a pair of farm girls they had many adventures. Big sister, Sadie, had many roles from certified rodeo clown, fly and kitten catcher, fort architect and contractor, human toboggan lift, and electric jeep driver, they did everything together. Then, as a pair of teens the two found little to agree on outside of their mutual distain for their Dad's morning ritual of blasting, Bob Marley's, 'Buffalo Solider' on his Bang & Olufsen speakers. As adults, things got back on track. Grace became a roommate, personal hair dresser, life coach, co-Boston-Terrier owner, best friend, and now Maid of Honour.

Kyla has always said it best, "We are cousins by blood, but friends by choice” and boy has she got it right! As a cousin, you are genetically predisposed to be friends, trapped at family functions, performing NSYNC; Sadie as Howie, Kyla as Nick Carter, synchro swim routines to Simon and Garfunkel, endless games of Asshole with Sadie as the perennial loser; not to mention them sneaking into R rated movies in full drag. When family functions became less frequent, their friendship continued to flourish. Though some of Kyla's boyfriends may have thought of Sadie as a nuisance, even as a poor influence, Kyla remained a roommate, personal sommelier, trekking companion, gun slingers, tardy dinner guest, Dovercourt Road resident, and of course Sadie's best friend.
Bridesmaid
Jesse and Sadie have been all but inseparable since the early days of Grade 9. Their first encounter was in Spanish Class under the pseudonyms of Maria (Jesse) and Valentina (Sadie). Their friendship grew stronger over the course of countless sleepovers and weekends up at Jesse's cottage. When they got their licenses, they would ride around aimlessly, blasting mixed CD's and getting lost. After high school ended the two stayed together, first as student painters, then roommates at Queen's and finally as roommates on Bartlett Street in Toronto where they shared countless inside jokes and bottles of wine. Now the two are again on the same trajectory, picking out engagement rings, wedding venues, and life partners all within weeks of each other. Sadie couldn't imagine doing this without Jesse
Bridesmaid
Emily and Sadie met in the bush of Alberta in 2008 as tree planters. Though not working with the same boss, Sadie was intrigued by Emily with her vegetarianism, loud laugh, guitar serenades, dread locks and seemingly endless packs of cigarettes. Sadie thought Emily was 'cool' and over the next 3 Albertan summers they developed a true friendship. Sadie always intrigued by Emily's juxtapositions, her love of Real House wives of Atlanta and knitting, organic skin care products and vapes, Em is gal who knows what she likes. When planting ended for Sadie the two would still find time to meet up. Emily a frequent visitor of Bartlett, soon moved to Toronto as well. Emily is a frequent dinner guest, co-wine drinker, laugh enthusiast. Sadie couldn't be happier to have this gEM by her side.

When Sadie described herself as a 'painter' during their first dorm floor meeting at Queen's, Liv was intrigued. Of course, by painter, Sadie meant by trade and was by no means an artist. By the time Liv realized, it was already too late. The two became inseparable, always able to find some mischief to immerse themselves in. From tumbles down hills, grand entrances during homecoming, various live improv characters, costumes, endless chats and laughter, the two did everything together. In the days since Queen's, Liv has called France, England, Cambodia, and Myanmar home and though Sadie and her seldom see one another, they remain close, able to pick things up where they left off whenever they are reunited. Sadie couldn't be happier to have Liv by her side.
Mother of the Groom
Bethe is Charles’ eternally patient, long suffering mom. Having spent countless hours going to bat for Charles with perturbed parents and neurotic teachers, there was never any doubt of how much she cared for her son. Charles will always be grateful for her unwavering care and continuing support in everything he has done. Charles’ love for the kitchen was born out of Bethe’s generous and hospitable nature. Whether preparing meals for hundreds at homeless shelters or Christmas dinner with the family, she’s inspired him with her resourceful competent nature. Both will probably agree that it’s a bit of a miracle that he’s made it this far.
Father of the Groom
It is from John that Charles inherited his obsessive and hyperactive nature. Fortunately for Charles these similarities were accompanied by a sense of patience and understanding whilst growing up. Whether it was the time he massaged gum into his dad’s hair or when he was caught throwing rocks at the animals in the zoo his father reacted with good humour and endearment. The two share a love for the outdoors and have spent many hours in the mountains hiking. Both Charles and John are extremely conversational. They have fond memories of the India trip spending time talking with crowds of curious strangers. Charles is grateful for his dad's supportive nurturing presence and will be extremely fortunate if he’s half as good of a dad to his kids as John has been to him.
Best Man
As brothers, Charles was the elder, wiser and meaner of the two. On one vacation Charles threw Martin's favourite Barbie into a Geyser, another time he locked Martin out of the house with a evil goose in hot pursuit. They have always been different, Martin, more interested in keeping his room meticulously clean, Charles would hide unwanted dinner vegetables under his own bed. Martin, always taking obsessive care of his things, being his tamagachi or fresh water fish tanks, Charles would be more interested in terrorizing the neighbourhood kids or letting cows loose from their pasture. Despite their differences they have become closer as they have gotten older. Martin is always there to listen, offer advice or make you laugh. Charles is honoured to have Martin as his Best Man.
Groomswoman
Abby is Charles' one and only sister. As the baby of the family Abby was blessed with a troupe of older brothers to tease her as she grew up. Charles has always seen himself as a protective grounding presence in her life. When they were young, he would drag her away from her dirt feasts in the garden. When she was old enough to go to school he would walk her to class and tease her in front of her friends. As adults he now offers unwanted (and unheeded) advice on how to live her best life. While he is often offended that all this good advice goes to waste, he is proud of everything she has become and is grateful to have her in his wedding party.
Groomsman
The two met in the 5th Grade when Murdoch was appointed to show Charles around his new school, Murdoch quickly became one of Charles closest and most loyal friends. Through a number of questionable antics, including hiking the Himalayas with Rabies anti-dote, that loyalty has been tested many times. One such example coming to mind was when Charles threw an open pop into the open window of Chad Jackson's Black Cavalire. Well aware of what the consequences might be, Murdoch remained stead by Charles' side. Charles is happy to have Murdoch by his side once again, in case anything similar happens at the wedding.
Groomsman
