The Wedding Website of Abigail Fine and Sachin Shankar
Welcome to Eugene/Springfield! These two adjacent cities form a metro area of around 300,000 people in the Willamette Valley, a corridor of farmland between the coastal range and the Cascades. With veggie farms and vineyards all over the place, consider visiting the Saturday market or wine tasting in your free time. Eugene/Springfield has a ton of hotels and little B&Bs, as well as numerous AirBnb options. We regret that rates are a bit higher than average due to it being a football weekend. We ask guests to freely explore and book whatever works best. There are rooms still available in a room block at the Valley River Inn. Please e-mail Abigail to receive our group booking link for the block. The hotels recommended below are located in walkable areas close to city center, but there are many more good options beyond this list. If you have any questions about a hotel or neighborhood, please ask us.

Travel Note

Airport and Transit

The closest airport is Eugene. Airline connections are sometimes better through Portland, especially for the East Coast, in which case you can either take the Amtrak train (3 hours) or rent a car (2 hour drive). There is regrettably no public transit from the Eugene airport, so we recommend a rental car or rideshare. Mount Pisgah is located 20 minutes' drive from Eugene's city center. It is not accessible by public transit, so we recommend either a rental car or rideshare to get to the event on Friday. (Note: we are currently exploring what's involved in booking a shuttle bus. Please stay tuned for details and don't reserve a non-refundable rental car until we know if the shuttle is a go!) Out of town guests are also invited to a brunch on Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Owen Rose Garden. Many of the hotels shown below are walking distance from the garden. There is plenty of public transit within the city of Eugene (bus), so rental cars/rideshare are only needed for the airport and Mount Pisgah.
