The river path is lovely, and it runs for many miles in both directions. Eugene's bike share costs $1 plus 10 cents/minute.
It's huge! Food and crafts.
A bookstore-bar inside an adorable historic house. Japanese food pop-up on weekends. A favorite hangout spot.
Don't be fooled: it's not just a pharmacy. This is the Emporium of Kitsch. Floor to ceiling treasures, windchimes and mobiles whirling, a sensory overload in the best way. To call this a "gift store" doesn't capture it. Caution: kids may go out of their minds.
When Abigail and fam went wine tasting, this one was everyone's favorite for quality of wines, especially Riesling. A small and charming family business.
A really pretty drive, as well as a scenic spot to taste wines. (Admittedly, Abigail and Sachin hardly ever drink wine, but it is The Thing To Do.)
A walkable shopping area. Highlight: *Books With Pictures,* a graphic novel store with a dizzying selection, founded by a local friend!
There are tons of trails all over the city, called the "ridgeline" system. Spencer's Butte is the tallest one, with a great view from the top. But there are also lots of gently undulating paths through the forest. Here's a map of all the different trails: https://eugeneoutdoors.com/pdf/RidgelineTrailMap.pdf
A small but well-curated collection on UO's campus.
Best restaurant in town, we think. Seating is very limited, but if you can get a stool, it's worth it. Fun touch: food is served by the person who cooked it.
A hip lil' restaurant in a colorful house.
Indoor/outdoor food truck pavilion with live music.
A ramen and Korean food spot in downtown with a big menu and steamy windows.
Our local Jewish deli. (Not Kosher, though.)
We love coming here to eat spanakopita and dolmas while playing board games. Great casual hangout with a vast wine and beer selection.
A nice coffeeshop located walking distance from all the hotels we listed.
Local beer and cider, live music, outdoor seating, food trucks, lots of cute dogs.
Big indoor space and beer selection. Pub menu.
Best 100% vegan restaurant in town.
A French bakery downtown with delicious pastries, cakes, and coffee.
This is an old community hangout in the counterculture neighborhood. It's been the same for decades, and it's cozy and happy in there.
Just about the only place in Eugene that stays open until 10pm. For your "late" night slice of pie.
