We took a tour of the Walled City last time we were here and were very impressed. It's a great way to learn the city's history and see sites you might not otherwise visit. There's an air conditioned bus that transfers you from site to site mixed in with walking tours.
Enjoy a quick tour of the Emerald Museum to see the history of these precious jewels. The tour includes a walk through the workshop to see the emeralds being cut and a browse through the store to see the final product and make purchases if you wish. The museum is centrally located within the city.
Incredible restaurant we highly recommend! Seafood is a staple in Cartagena and Restaurante Mistura delivers. Its vibe is modern dining with an open ceiling to see the stars. It also features a live band. We recommend ordering either a margarita or a pisco sour from the bar and the grilled octopus to start.
If there is anything you need to taste in Cartagena, it's the coconut lemonade at Quero Arepa. A small, quaint restaurant with authentic cuisine that's located on a quiet street corner. A perfect place to grab a light lunch but most importantly, the coconut lemonade - you will not be disappointed!
We have a day planned for the beach already. But if that's not enough beach for you, there's plenty more to do. The beach is located directly outside of the walled city. There are many places to rent surfboards, jet skis, kite surfing, snorkel gear, or anything else to stay active. Ask Chris before booking anything so that he can give some recommendations.
