Question

How Many Days Should We Spend There?

Answer

We hope you can join us for 3 nights (Feb 16th, 17th & 18th). But of course, feel free to book additional accommodations and extend your stay. Many great destinations are just a short plane ride from Cartagena such as Bogota, Medellin, Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and many more!

Question

Is Cartagena Safe?

Answer

Absolutely! After the unfortunate period of violence during the late 20th century, the safety conditions in Colombia have greatly improved. Cartagena's economy relies heavily on tourism and visitors are welcomed by the locals. Regardless, you should always exercise caution as you would in any other big city!

Question

Where Should I Exchange Money?

Answer

ATMs provide the best exchange rates. Upon arrival at the Rafael Nunez International Airport, we recommend you retrieve Colombian pesos at a local secured ATM using your debit cards. Depending on the exchange rate, 1USD = 2,884COP.

Question

Are Meals Included?

Answer

We'll be hosting a welcome dinner with drinks on Friday evening at Casa Estrella (our main house). Dinner will also be served during our reception on Saturday evening. You're also welcome to join us at the main house for breakfast in the mornings! Leave Sunday night open to explore one of the city's many charming restaurants.

Question

Do I Need to Bring an Adapter for My Electronics?

Answer

No, the outlets in Colombia are the same as they are in the US: 110V 60Hz.

Question

Can I Drink Tap Water in Colombia?

Answer

Although major cities have excellent running water systems making tap water perfectly drinkable, we recommend you drink bottled water.

Question

What Are the Locals Like?

Answer

Locals in Cartagena are extremely welcoming and accommodating of tourists. Many speak decent English. Just be mindful that tourism is their economy and as you walk through the streets or along the beach, locals may try to sell you jewelry, food, or even play a tune for you. They are harmless and it's perfectly safe to buy what they are selling if you choose.

Question

How Do I Get Around?

Answer

Cartagena is a walkable city. Within and around the confines of the walled city, everywhere is accessible by walking. You'll find the streets to be filled with locals and tourists and safe to walk. Taxis and Uber are available and plentiful.

Question

Gifts

Answer

We understand that many friends and family are coming from all over the world and the commitment involved is great. Therefore, your attendance at our wedding is a gift unto itself.
