For those unfamiliar with this particular love story, Sandra and Michael met in Kentucky in optometry school. They would see each other every day in class but after the first year of year of school, they both went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic as part of a group to provide free eye care to the communities there. Michael became smitten with Sandra on this trip and secretly began to put plans into motion. Sandra and her close friend Shanae had a trip to Miami Beach planned and since Michael just happened to be in Orlando they invited him to tag along on their trip. On this trip, Michael officially expressed his interest in Sandra and they have been inseparable ever since. They survived 3 years of optometry school together including stressful board exams and living apart for months at a time during rotations, then moved to Orlando to live together after school before moving across the country to Denver. Our story is already filled with adventures and excitement and we are just getting started - we are both overwhelmed with excitement to start this big next step of our journey together and we look forward to sharing it with all of our closest family and friends.
