Despite both going to Penn, living in NYC, and having a number of mutual friends, we didn’t meet until March 2022. Our first date was at Vic’s, a cozy Italian spot in SoHo. Rynel wasn't expecting much from her first date, but she did text half the guest list for background checks just in case. The consensus: “Oh you’re going to love him.” They were right! Over the past 3+ years, we’ve loved getting to know each other in NYC. From eating at every restaurant in each other’s neighborhoods to Saturday strolls through Central Park, every day has been a fun adventure. We’ve also treasured time with each other’s families in Florida and Oklahoma, and grown deeper in our faith through Church of the City. On December 13th, 2024 Adam asked Rynel to take a walk to Pier 17, her favorite spot in the city (although very suspicious for a freezing cold Friday). He asked her to marry him and she joyfully said yes! That night, the surprises continued when both of our families flew in to celebrate. We’re so grateful for the way our lives have come together and for all the people who’ve walked alongside us. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
