Jacob and Alexis met through the normal way of dating in today’s time… online dating. Yes, the Gen Z couple matched on Hinge, “the app made to delete.” Alexis was on and off on the app. As she was about to delete the app for the third time, she went through her likes (interested parties that have liked her profile, and if she returns the like, then they become a match). When she was reviewing and declining her likes, she stopped and saw Jacob’s profile. She could tell Jacob was going through multiple phases and finding himself as she would see pictures in his bodybuilding phase, motorcycle phase, and “Cali boy” clothing. The picture she loved the most was of Jacob on his motorcycle with his hat backwards and a leather jacket. She could tell he was a good boy, but the motorcycle look was intriguing. Alexis was reluctant to return the like, but Jacob followed up promptly. As Alexis was suspicious of Jacob, Jacob had similar reservations about Alexis. Jacob thought Alexis looked mean and stern in her pictures. However, he was intrigued by her beauty and wanted to test fate. This was his first time on Hinge, and he had been living in Tampa for a year at this time. As Alexis and Jacob continued to communicate on the app for over a month. Alexis shamelessly loved her cat-and-mouse game. This is how she would weed out the bad apples. However, Jacob seemed to enjoy it and continued to capture Alexis’s attention with his wit. Soon, Jacob asked Alexis out on a date at Fly Bar (which is now closed), right across from The University of Tampa (which Alexis graduated from). Alexis was shocked when Jacob worked up the courage to ask her on a real date and was interested to see where this connection could go. Alexis thought this would be a nice short dinner and drinks before her dance shift at The Ritz at Ybor. However, that all changed when Alexis walked through the door of Fly Bar. Jacob thought Alexis was an angel as she walked through the door while the sun was hitting her glistening skin. Alexis was searching for Jacob, and as their eyes connected across the bar she felt as if the world stopped. It felt as if they were the only ones in the world. This is when Alexis knew she was in trouble and may have met the one. Alexis was falling for Jacob as he brought up more intelligent conversations, making Alexis laugh, and ticking off every box. Jacob was smitten by Alexis and was nervous throughout the date. Alexis and Jacob were talking the night away and took a stroll at UTampa. The two of them were surprised by how they both enjoyed the date and did not want it to end. Jacob walked Alexis to her car as she had to report to her call time. Unfortunately, Jacob was a gentleman and did not kiss Alexis on the first date. However, Alexis was already smitten by the Perry charm, and Jacob couldn’t get Alexis out of his mind. Two weeks and many dates later, Jacob came to Alexis’s night job as a gogo dancer at The Ritz with Productions by Pao. Jacob was telling all of Alexis’s coworkers that he was her boyfriend as she was dancing on stage. Keep in mind, Jacob has not asked Alexis to be his girlfriend. After Alexis’s shift, Jacob confessed to her that he had told her coworkers that he was her boyfriend. Alexis blushes and admits to him that she accidentally called him her boyfriend to her mom a couple of days prior. The two lovebirds agreed to be an official couple on June 26, 2022.

During May 2025, Jacob got the ring with one of their dear friends, Josh. The mischievous duo hid their locations from Alexis as she was distracted in New York for the Kendrick Lamar & SZA concert with her two good friends, Kyree and Kiya. Alexis was distracted by busy season as her friends asked her obvious questions, such as her ring size and what nail color she’s getting for her anniversary vacation. Alexis and Jacob went on a cruise for their 3rd year anniversary. On the third day, the couple had a beautiful day in Cozumel, Mexico. They went on a beautiful catamaran and explored all of Cozumel. They snorkeled to see the beautiful coral reefs and the vibrant fish. The happy couple soaked up the sun on a private beach and enjoyed each other's company in peace. On the evening of July 1, 2025, the couple was getting ready for dinner, or that's what Alexis thought. Jacob told Alexis on their actual anniversary on June 26, 2026, during a romantic dinner after giving her a heartfelt love letter, that they would celebrate their anniversary during their cruise. Mind you, Alexis thought Jacob was going to propose on their actual anniversary, and as that did not occur, she gave up on guessing when Jacob would propose. Jacob told Alexis to be ready by 7 pm, and of course, Alexis was late. Jacob was internally freaking out as they were rushing to the perch (top floor on the back of the cruise ship). Jacob told Alexis this was a couple's event (events like this are common on Virgin Voyages). Alexis saw red roses placed on the perch, but saw no other couples. Jacob said he may have gotten the time mixed up. He told Alexis to stand at the rail and get ready for pictures as he "checked the event details on the app."Meanwhile, he was contacting the sailor services. Alexis was soaking up her trip and the love she had for Jacob as he interrupted her thoughts by softly calling her name. She turned around and saw her dream man with a huge smile and tears in his eyes. Alexis sees the sailor service representative recording and champagne at the table. Alexis looks back at Jacob, and he takes her hand as he professes his love. Jacob proposed, and Alexis at first was in shock. She was overwhelmed by the love and squeaked out a yes. Now the happy couple is getting married on June 26, 2026, and can't wait to be married on their fourth year anniversary.
