Question

Where is Emerald Bay

Answer

Emerald Bay is located on the West End of the Catalina Channel Island, 26 miles offshore of Long Beach, CA. The Boy Scout Camp in which we will be staying is located next to Corsair Cover in the same bay. That being said, this is a remote area of the Island. The Camp is developed with running water, showers, toilets, & different varieties of lodging. But it is by no means a city, or even a town. Think summer-camp. Once guests arrive, they will remain in Camp for the weekend.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes, our registry can be found on our website under the registry tab.

Question

What activities will there be at camp?!

Answer

Types of activities you can expect include watersports, hiking, biking, field sports (archery & shotgun shooting), so please pack accordingly.

We recommend to take NON-DROWSY seasick medication prior to the boat leaving the dock. If you do happen to feel under the weather or get sick - throw up over the side, avoid your friends.

Please email, text or call Randy(FOB) randy@quickline.us or 714-227-4671 with expected arrival date (Thursday we hope), vessel name, size, power or sail and he will try to arrange a mooring for you (no promises). If you wish to smoke (or vape), there will be designated smoking areas in camp and Corsair Cove. Please do NOT smoke out of these areas, Catalina Island is a highly susceptible to fire. Please refer to the map for these areas (all guests will receive a map and other goodies upon arrival at camp.)

Question

Is there a way to go to Avalon after the event?

Answer

We have arranged for a shoreboat to ferry guests, to the Isthmus from Emerald Bay on Sunday at 10 AM to catch the 11:45 Cyclone to Avalon. Guests not taking the Harbor Breeze back to Long Beach will be responsible for their transportation from Two Harbors and back to the mainland from Avalon. Please contact FOB Randy (714-227-4671, randy@quickline.us) directly to get a spot on the shoreboat.
