Join us for Mile 12, JULY 31-AUGUST 3, in Downtown Appleton! 200 Artists, 40 Venues, 1 Great Mile of Music. This year will be the 12th annual Mile of Music. The free, four-day festival spanning across an approximately one-mile stretch of College Avenue consists of artists playing 100% original music. Since its start in 2013, Mile of Music has grown to be a destination for artists around the country to play and get the chance to "feel famous for a weekend," Nashville-based musician and Mile of Music regular Jamie Kent told the Post-Crescent earlier this year. The festival continues to garner attention, and was even recently featured in Rolling Stone magazine. Past years have had an estimated tens of thousands of festival attendees. The festival showcases emerging artists from around the world and takes place in a walkable area with restaurants, coffee shops, retailers, and local-famous taprooms.

Originally a vast swath of rich farmland, the acres that now make up Butte des Morts Golf Course were reimagined and meticulously designed by famed Chicago golf course architect W.C. Jackson. Upon completion and approval of the course design in spring of 1924 longtime greenskeeper, Jack Taylor spread the first grass seed on what would evolve into one of the state’s finest courses.
