Day trips & activities:
South shore drive (through Hawaii Kai) beautiful views. Sometimes you can spot whales from the viewpoint stop areas.
TIP: Hanauma Bay used to be famous for snorkeling, but it’s often packed and you have to pay.
Kona Brewing Co. in Hawaii Kai is good for lunch or dinner.
Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha, best shave-ice on the island!
North shore drive is a longer and slow-going road, but stops at world-famous beaches (Sunset Beach & Waimea) plus great food trucks make it worth the trek.
Best spots for snorkeling: Shark’s Cove and Three Tables.
Despite Turtle Bay’s namesake, you’re much more likely to spot turtles at Laniakea Beach.
Haleiwa Beach House is an excellent stop for dinner!
Skydiving at Dillingham Airfield on the north shore.
Swim with sharks.
Rent kayaks & paddle to the Mokes in Kailua (can be difficult depending on wind).
