Savannah lives in British Columbia, Canada and Ryan lives in Washington, USA
Other than our border dates, the last time we were physically together was March 13. Savannah had been visiting Ryan in Washington, working on their registry (at Target of course) and returned home to find out the Canadian government was requesting anyone who had been outside the country to stay home and quarantine for 14 days. During this time the border closed and seeing each other was no longer an option.
We were engaged for two weeks before we were separated.
We hope to marry end of May or beginning of June, it would have to be a small elopement style wedding and is dependant on the local restrictions and border crossings.
Nope! We do our best to be respectful of the rules, the borderline, and health restrictions and seek to be respectful and remain on good terms with each border patrol officer.
Border dates have been a huge blessing, one that we are so grateful for as we know many others do not have this privilege or opportunity! We would be lying to ourselves if we said it hasn't been difficult. We've had lots of sad days, tough days and frustrating days. But as Christians, we know that our God is truly over this circumstance, and our wedding and the start of our lives together is in His hands. Therefore, we put our trust in Him and know that He fills our every need and will make all things work together for our good and His glory. Whatever that may look like.
