Our Story

On March 1 we got engaged! It was so lovely and wonderful! You can watch our proposal here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh3vvy_4dXc Our plan was to marry on May 8 this year, little did we know, that though our wedding date would fast approach, this virus would approach even sooner. Initially, we were forced to lessen the guest size of our wedding but soon realized that a wedding at all would not be possible on May 8th. The US and Canadian government announced they would extend the border closures another 30 days, which would go past the date of our wedding. We hope that the borders will reopen at the end of these 30 days but there is no promise yet. Since we met, our lives have not gone as we planned them too. Yet, with each twist and turn we have been reminded of the following verse: A man plans his steps but the Lord determines his path. Though this pandemic was not expected by any of us, nor was the disruption of our wedding plans, we know that God is sovereign over all things and we are anchoring in the hope we have in Him. We pray that each of you trusts in the peace that is beyond what our hearts and minds can fathom right now. This peace that is only found in Christ. We pray that each of you remains healthy and safe.

There is much to celebrate despite the heaviness and chaos of this season! We are beyond excited to become husband and wife. Though our plans have shifted drastically, we can’t wait to tell our future children how we got married in the middle of a worldwide pandemic. We’ll try and make it sound cooler than it really is. Haha!

We are so blown away by the love and support we have received during this time by friends and strangers alike. Thank you for your kind words, your encouragement and your love. We feel so blessed by God in this season with such an amazing village and community around us.
