Wedding Party

Meet our friends and family helping us celebrate our wedding!

Sara Hayes

Maid of Honor

Savannah met Sara during graduate school, and after a phone call that lasted about two hours, they realized that although they weren't meant to be roommates, they would be great friends. Now Sara is a beloved guest at dinner parties, and Ryan has become a father figure to her two fur babies, Miss Kitty and Marley. Topics of conversation could include: cowboys, books, Diet Coke, and prenatal genetic counseling

Matthew Jackson

Best Man

Ryan and Savannah started going to school with Matthew in 6th grade. During junior year of high school, Matthew and Savannah plotted a way to have Ryan join their prom, as he was going to a different high school. When Matthew backed out, Savannah decided to go as Ryan's date, and the rest is history. Topics of conversation could include: dungeons and dragons, weird internet rabbit holes, cycling, and the video game industry

Nikki Nelson

Bridesmaid

Nikki has been a great sister to her little brother Ryan, even if he didn’t stay “little” for long. She is a loving dog mom to Ryan and Savannah’s favorite nephew, Charlie. Nikki has also been very gracious in welcoming Savannah into their family, even if their trip to the art museum in Wilmington ended with very little art and a lot of chips and salsa. Topics of conversation could include: teaching, the beach, psychology, and her amazing collection of houseplants

Joseph Moore

Groomsman

Joseph has been one of the most constant and supportive presences in Savannah’s life, even if she did (allegedly) try to squish him when he was a baby. Through multiple moves, swim practices, and family events, Joseph has always been there with a wisecrack and a listening ear. And he’s excited to have a brother-in-law in Ryan, especially if it means another person to beat at cards. Topics of conversation could include: being the first Moore to go supersonic, physics, swimming, and travel

Megan Johnson

Bridesmaid

The first time Megan met Ryan and Savannah in person was on a hot summer day in June, and Megan watched Savannah drink 4 glasses of sweet tea and tried sweet potato fries. The North/South cultural exchange is a foundation of their friendship, along with parking lot talks, Dough Joe's trips, and video games. Topics of conversation could include: Stardew Valley, Minnesota, heath equity, and books

Josh Anderla

Groomsman

Ryan and Savannah met Josh through Megan when they came down to NC from MN. He very bravely tried the “yard bird” and sweet potato fries at our first dinner together. Josh has been a great sport at game nights and made a very convincing blacksmith at the NC Renaissance Fair. Topics of conversation could include: the NFL, physical media, Wii Sports resort, and board games

Claire Delano

Bridesmaid

Ryan and Savannah met Claire in 6th grade, and Savannah and Claire became close friends shortly after. They spent a lot of time between classes discussing their dream musical roles (Christine Daaé for Claire and Cosette for Savannah). Now they spend time going to events in Charlotte and going camping, even if some camping ends up being in Claire's apartment. Topics of conversation could include: Broadway musicals, literature, Girl Scouts, and Charlotte city living

Lesliana Delano

Bridesmaid

Ryan and Savannah started middle school with Lesliana, and the three of them made up the majority of Team RKLS (pronounced "reckless"), their group for projects in Mr. Crowder's class. Lesliana also often visited Ryan and Savannah Winston-Salem, as she graduated from the NC School of the Arts. Topics of conversation could include: animation, boba tea, the Reynolds Family, and the Romanovs

Guinevere

Cat of Honor

Although our sweet Gwen will not be in attendance at our wedding, she will be in our hearts. Her melodious meows and purrs brighten our day (even if she does like to keep us up at night).
