Worth the Wait

Senior year usually signifies an end for many students. But for Kris and Ryan it was only the beginning of what became forever. Although they both had always gone to school together since Kris moved to Princeton in 7th grade, they were never more than two people that went to the same school in a small town. This all changed in 2013, during their last year of high school. They found themselves in a handful of classes together, but the one that really helped them form their friendship was Human Anatomy. In this class, Ryan and Kris were randomly paired together to dissect a cat. Although they both loved cats, they took the task as a learning opportunity. Being the nerds that they are, they enjoyed studying for this class along with their other classes and going to scholastic bowl practice together. Neither of the two were looking for anything more than friendship, but as time continued, the pair became the best of friends. Although it seemed like a crazy idea, before the start of college, Ryan and Kris decided to give romance a shot despite both of them attending different colleges. For two years they were able to get through school and long distance (and even Ryan leaving the country for almost six months). These two years were not the easiest of times. But, as the universe would have it, the pair were able to spend their last two years of undergrad at the same university. Shortly after graduating in 2018, on their four year anniversary, Ryan proposed to Kris. From there the two navigated jobs; a few moves; health scares; pets; Ryan going back to school; fostering a teenager; a pandemic that delayed their wedding; moving out of state; and buying a home. And now here we are. We are ready to go through the rest of life's adventures as Mr. and Mrs. Owens, and we could not be more excited for what lies ahead.
