Ballyowen Golf Club

137 Wheatsworth Road, Hamburg, NJ 07419

The #1 public golf course in New Jersey. An 18-hole, Par 72 links-style course designed by Roger Rulewich, spread across 250 acres with 360-degree views of the Wallkill Valley and Appalachian Mountains. Walking is permitted and caddie service is available on request. After your round, grab a drink at Owen's Pub — a Celtic-inspired pub with Scotch, pub fare, and a bagpiper performing at sunset. Black Bear Golf Club

A scenic, wooded 18-hole course designed for golfers of every skill level — great for a more casual round. Features a driving range and on-course dining at the Bear Den Grille. Crystal Springs Resort has six courses total within a five-mile radius. Beyond Ballyowen and Black Bear, there's also Crystal Springs Golf Club (the most challenging), Wild Turkey (unique multi-terrain layout), Cascades (9 holes, great for beginners), and Minerals (family-friendly 9-hole executive course). Wine Cellar Tour

Crystal Springs is home to one of the most extraordinary wine collections in North America — over 105,000 bottles, including a Château Latour dating back to 1863. The cellar has won the Wine Spectator Grand Award every year since 2006. Complimentary public tours are offered daily at 3:00 PM — sign up at the Crystal Tavern hostess stand. The main restaurant at Grand Cascades Lodge and probably where you'll eat most meals. Locally sourced, seasonally inspired menu with great cocktails and mountain views. Open for breakfast (8–11am), lunch (11:30am–4:30pm), and dinner (5–10pm).

Restaurant Latour

The resort's fine dining crown jewel. Seasonally driven tasting menus featuring locally sourced and foraged ingredients, paired with wines from the Grand Award-winning cellar. Floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain views — try to time it for sunset. Open Thursday through Sunday from 5:00 PM. Reservations required (book at least a week ahead for weekends)

Owen's Pub

A Celtic-inspired pub overlooking the Ballyowen fairways with hearty pub fare, an impressive Scotch collection, and a bagpiper in full regalia performing on the knoll at sunset. Open during golf season. Even if you don't golf, it's worth the drive over just for the atmosphere.

Resort Activities

Crystal Springs offers a rotating schedule of daily activities for resort guests — many of which are included with your stay. Options include archery, axe throwing, laser clay shooting, rock climbing, hiking, fishing, and more. Activities vary by day, so check the resort's daily schedule when you arrive. Some specialty activities like goat yoga and workshops have an extra fee. Ask the front desk at Grand Cascades Lodge for the current activity schedule.

Hiking & Nature

The resort sits right in the Kittatinny Mountains with trails and natural beauty everywhere you look. The Appalachian Trail is minutes away. If you want to stretch your legs before or after the wedding weekend, this is a gorgeous area to explore on foot.
