We’re getting married!

Hershal and Bethany began dating in the summer of 2021. Until then, their lives had run parallel without quite crossing. When Bethany worked at Wisp’s ski school, Hershal was down the hill in the tuning shop. When Bethany camped with her family at the Cheat River Festival, Hershal was camping with friends just across the grounds. They had skied the same slopes, rafted the same rivers, and shared many of the same friends—yet their paths never quite met. Years later, as Bethany prepared to move back to Garrett County while finishing her lease in Morgantown, fate finally nudged them together. One sweltering summer day, after the two had reconnected, Bethany had reached her limit with her stifling, A/C-less apartment. Meanwhile, Hershal happened to mention that he had just installed an ice-cold air-conditioning unit in his garage. Overheated and impatient, Bethany decided their first date would be in that garage, basking in the much-needed cool air. From that day on, they were inseparable. They’ve grown both as individuals and as a couple, adopted a spirited Jack Russell, and supported one another through all the twists and turns life has offered. Bethany and Hershal are excited to begin this next chapter of their lives together, ready to carry their shared history, deepening partnership, and adventurous spirit into whatever comes next. What began with a chance reunion and a cool garage on a sweltering day has grown into a life filled with love, laughter, and countless shared journeys—and now they look forward to the many adventures still ahead.
