Located in Greensboro, this is definitely the most convenient airport as it is the closest one to Winston-Salem (30-45 minutes away). Be sure to compare prices, because on occasion, it can also be less expensive to fly into this airport than Charlotte or Raleigh (even if CLT or RDU are stops along the flight!). CLT

This lovely, large airport has flights to and from just about everywhere. It is located in Charlotte, about an hour and a half outside of Winston-Salem. We do not recommend taking I-77 from the airport as traffic is usually atrocious. We prefer taking I-85 as its predicted time on google maps is much more reliable (and quicker!). RDU

Raleigh-Durham Airport is located about an hour and 30 - 45 minutes away from Winston-Salem. If you are looking for a highly inexpensive flight, Frontier Airlines has a hub here, and depending on where you are flying from, you can get a round-trip ticket for as low as $100 (just be prepared for limited tray-table space and minimal free snacks).
