Forever

We met at the ages of 13 and 14, nearly ten sweet years ago! Through the last decade together, it has shown us that we cannot do life without eachother. From middle school to college to moving states away and growing into the people we are today, we’ve walked side by side through every season of life. We’ve celebrated milestones, weathered challenges, and learned what it truly means to love unconditionally. What began as young love quickly turned into a lifelong friendship, built on laughter, trust, and unwavering support. As we grew, so did our love, stronger, deeper, and more intentional with each passing year. Now, standing hand in hand and ready for forever, we’re so grateful for the journey that brought us here and even more excited for the adventures ahead.

I had a quiet feeling it was coming soon, yet I was completely undone by how beautifully surprised I still was. We were staying at a brand-new resort hotel I had dreamed of visiting for the longest time, and the evening felt special from the start, the kind of night you want to linger in forever. We shared the most wonderful dinner together, laughing and talking, and after a celebratory margarita, I was feeling lighthearted and a little rosy as we wandered the hotel, taking it all in. When I thought the night was winding down and we were about to leave, my heart sank just a bit. I truly believed this was the night I would get engaged. What I didn’t know was that he was patiently waiting for the perfect moment, allowing the evening to settle and the moment to feel completely clear and intentional. Then, when I least expected it, he asked me to marry him. I burst into tears, completely overwhelmed, melting into his arms as I said yes, a million times, hardly able to believe that the love of my life and the moment I had thought about since I met him had just taken place. I blinked the tears away and looked at the most perfect (big) diamond he placed on my hand, and my life was changed forever.

I knew I wanted to make the night special without making it feel overplanned or obvious. Taking her to the new resort she’d been talking about forever felt right, something she genuinely wanted, not just something fancy for the sake of it. Dinner was great, we laughed a lot, and just enjoyed being together. As we walked around the hotel and took everything in, I knew the moment was getting close, but I wanted it to feel calm and real, not rushed. When the time finally felt right, I asked her to marry me. Seeing her reaction, the tears, the way she melted into my arms and kept saying yes, is something I’ll never forget. In that moment, I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be, starting forever with my best friend.
