Rent a paddle board or canoe and enjoy Suttle Lake - 10 minutes from Black Butte.
Little Three Creek Lake has effectively been coined "Frog Lake" in Ethan's family. Many summers have been marked by a trip to Frog Lake for all of Ethan's life to see the tadpoles and frogs. The hike itself is an easy, short loop. From Sisters, turn right on Elm Street, which will turn into FS 16 to Three Creeks Lake. (The pavement ends after 15 miles). Turn right at the Driftwood Campground. Little Three Creeks begins at the end of the gravel road. There are a few other great hikes from this trailhead, including the 5.3 mile Tam McArthur Rim Trail (across the stream from the parking area by the main road), and Three Creeks Lake has a small general store and boat rentals.
Hike up Black Butte Ranch's namesake for beautiful views of the Cascade peaks. 3.6 mile, 1,556 foot climb up to the summit. Drive east on Hwy 20 to Indian Ford Campground, near MP 95. Road is rough, but doable. Turn north onto paved Green Ridge Road 11. After 3.8 miles, turn left onto gravel Road 1110 for 5.1 miles to a parking area at the road’s end.
Downtown Bend has great food and shopping. The beautiful park along the river features a popular spot for river surfing.
Fun arcade in downtown Bend with classic video games and pinball from the 80s and 90s! Always a great stop during a day out in Bend.
If you can find it, stay a while! Find the door labeled as a broom closet in McMenamins Old St. Francis in Bend for a good time.
