The best airport to go to is Leon/Guanajuato (BJX) or Queretaro (QRO). Once you land, I'd recommend a car service or ubering to San Miguel de Allende. The drive is about 1 and 20 minutes. In an uber X is about $40-50 American Airlines has flights leaving from DCA or IAD. A layover in DFW before arriving in Queretaro (or Leon). United Airlines offers flights from DCA or IAD. A layover in IAH before arriving in Queretaro (or Leon). Aeromexico offers flights from IAD or DCA. A layover in ATL before arriving in Queretaro (or Leon). Delta Airlines offers flights from DCA or IAD. A layover in ATL before arriving in Queretaro (or Leon).

From Texas, direct flights are available from Houston or Dallas to either Queretaro (QRO) or Leon, Guanajuato (BJX). Once you arrive, San Miguel de Allende is an 1 hour and 20 min drive from either airport. I recommend taking an uber which would be less than $20.00. United Airlines has direct flights from IAH to QRO. It also offers direct flights to BJX. American Airlines has direct flights from DFW to QRO. It also offers direct flights to BJX.
