When we get married, it will be our 13th year together. We met in person, the first time, on June 12, 2012, and became official on October 5th of the same year. Kristen was 20, and living at home, and Jonathan was almost 26, and living in an apartment when we met on Instagram. In that time, we have lived together in 3 apartments and 2 houses. We've had 1 cat, 4 adult dogs, and 9 puppies, of which we still have 3 dogs (Mom, Dad, and oldest puppy) and the cat.
Currently there is not a plan for such an option.
Honestly, we love kids, well...Jonathan loves kids, Kristen is still coming around to them. We are still debating whether having kids is in our future, but if we decide to have kids, we are only planning to stop at one, which Kristen hopes is a boy.
Yes. Jonathan is very near sighted and has worn glasses and contacts since he was at least 8 years old. Kristen didn't know she needed glasses when she met Jonathan. She would get blinding headaches and migraines frequently, and one day Jonathan noticed she was having trouble reading from a distance, and suggested she get her eyes checked out. Turns out she is slightly near sighted with an astigmatism.
Because Jonathan is left handed, and Kristen is right handed. We figured out that if we sit this way, we rarely elbow the other person, which makes for way less spills.
Our current plan is to take a short "mini moon" directly after the wedding. Some place close to home, so that we can still relax, but be close to the dogs should we need to run home. Then in early 2026, for our official "honeymoon" we'd like to go to the mountains and be in the snow, so we are thinking somewhere in Colorado. For our first year anniversary, we are discussing going overseas, which would be Kristen's first time on another continent.
The welcome party is near where we, and most of the wedding guests live. We looked around, and this was the best option to host this part of the wedding weekend, without everyone having to make 1.5 hour treks each way, or be stuck in the middle of nowhere, near the venue.
Kristen had a lot of wants for her venue, which were not easy to come by. We visited more than 10 venues, and had a list of over 50 venues that we planned to visit, but all of them didn't feel right. Felt like we were trying to make our vision fit the venue, rather than the other way around. Then when we got to A Thousand Cedars, we were both immediately at peace, and felt, even before we left the property, that this was the place for us. The venue had the wooded, forest like feel without being undomesticated and cold. It has both indoor and outdoor options, lots of space for activities, and a few things that most other venues didn't have. We couldn't be happier, now lets all hope that the rain stays away so we can enjoy the whole area.
