The Wedding

COVID-19 can't stop love!

We were married on our original date, 6-13-2020, in an intimate ceremony with a very small number of guests in attendance. Although we wished we could have had our original plan with all of our invited guests in attendance, it was simply impossible to do so given the regulations and health concerns that we had for our loved ones. We had a choice to make, wait to get married until the world is safer, or get married in a much more scaled back way and then carry on with our original plans as a celebration later with all of our friends and family. Of course, we chose the latter. With the amazing help of our families and the friends whose home we were married, we were able to pull off a fun, joyful, and meaningful wedding. We are so grateful to everyone who made our wedding day possible on a very short timeline and budget. We were able to honor our original ceremony plans and work with some of our original vendors to get a bouquet and corsage from our florist, and a small cake and cupcakes from our baker. We also used some decorations we had ready for our original wedding. We had tacos and lots of champagne, we made a playlist and danced our first dance. We decorated tables and enjoyed the company of immediate family. We wrote our own vows and said them to each other. And we would love for you to share in our special day by viewing our photos, watching our ceremony video, and sending us your congratulations. And most importantly, we hope to see you to celebrate together and dance the night away at our original venue once it is safe to do so. How We Met

2015

One day, while scrolling through Ok Cupid, Ryan saw a girl who liked Harry Potter and caught his eye. He sent her a message and they started talking. Soon, we had set up a date for the Thursday night farmers market in San Luis Obispo. Ibby and Ryan met at the statue of Puck in downtown SLO. We bonded over our love of Harry Potter and furry pets, and spent the night talking, drinking, and dancing. That night felt like the start of something great...

The Engagement

May 20, 2019

We planned a cruise for May 2019. Little did I (Ibby) know, but Ryan was planning to propose from the very beginning. He proposed on the night of the formal dinner on board the ship. His original plan was to propose after we had finished getting ready and were all dressed up, but he had to improvise when I went to my friends Gabby's room to get ready. At the end of the night when we got back to our room, he told me how much he loved me, got down on one knee, and popped the question! Obviously, I said yes!
