Our Story

Kimmie and I met while attending the Master's University in Santa Clarita, California. We were both in the same major, so there were many classes that we were coincidentally (at first) enrolled in together. When it came to midterms, she agreed to spend some of her time studying with me. It wasn't long before those study sessions turned into sushi dates, highly competitive 1-on-1 basketball games, and long conversations that usually took place on a beach around sunset. Last summer, shortly after our two year dating anniversary, I asked Kimmie to marry me. After dinner with her family at the resort in Oahu, Kimmie and I stepped out onto the beach for a sunset walk, much like we had many times on the California coast. As we walked, Kimmie began stopping every 20 feet or so to take a picture after picture, stalling our progress as we walked toward the place that I planned to propose. These frequent stops made me nervous because I thought that the sun would set before we got to "the spot." Eventually, we arrived at the location, I got down on one knee, and asked her if she would marry me. And to state the obvious, by the grace of God, she said "Yes." As we reflect on our relationship, we both continue to see the unwavering and all-sufficient sovereignty and grace of God. Kimmie and I could not be more excited about marriage, and can hardly wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people!
