Russell and Jenna met the way most adults meet- at work. Jenna wants to say all time stopped, doves were flying, and rays of light were coming when she saw Russ for the first time. But in all honesty, it was much simpler than that. Russell and Jenna worked together with one student for two and a half months. Jenna made it a point to be vulnerable, and they had fun together, learned a lot about each other, but stayed friends. When summer came, Jenna found herself missing Russ’ company. She remembered that they had talked about taking a trip to the hot springs, so one night she decided to call Russ and ask him to go. After that trip, they developed feelings for each other. They decided to date, and had a great summer. When summer came to an end they were both nervous to peruse a long distance relationship, but both of them thought they didn’t want to end what they had started. The 14 months of their long distance relationship was hard, but necessary! Russell and Jenna were people who jumped into relationships fast, so the distance forced them to take it slow. They were able to open up, trust each other, and slowly develop a relationship on solid ground. The couple went through many trials, but what kept them going was trusting in God’s plan and having an open and honest walk with God and each other. Being vulnerable just happened to be Russ’ love language- and he never judged Jenna with her vulnerability. Jenna had a patient way of encouraging her man to peruse bigger things, and to believe that he is the super man she sees in him. Russell proposed to Jenna on July 22, 2018, on the Couer D’Alene Lake in Idaho. During the proposal, time didn’t stop, there were no doves flying, but it was simple and perfect. They both couldn’t be more happy to spend life together, pursuing Gods plan, and to be having a wedding surrounded by their cherished loved ones.
