Close friends know that it was not love at first sight for Colin and me. As Colin fondly recalls, "I had her trapped between Iraq and Syria for long enough to convince her to fall in love with me." After our disagreeable first meeting Colin's first night in Jordan, the two of us slowly became friends, that is after a good month of my not speaking to him due to our inherent political rivalry. By his birthday in mid-April, we had become good friends. By the end of our study abroad in early May, we had fallen in love. But that was just the beginning...
After graduating from Ole Miss in 2018, we began looking for a new home in Oxford. We quickly discovered the cutest neighborhood, Plein Air, located just 15 minutes outside of Oxford in a little town called Taylor, population: 350. We immediately began envisioning life in Plein Air, and in May of 2019, our dream became a reality when we moved into the cozy, Seaside-esque community. We soon became close friends with dozens of wonderful neighbors who welcomed us with open arms. We cannot wait for you to meet them at the wedding! We are, of course, regulars at the three local establishments: Taylor Grocery, a fish house frequently listed as the best in the South by Southern Living magazine; Lost Dog Coffee, the coziest spot to grab a coffee and catch up with friends; and our favorite spot, Grit. We like to joke that Grit is the best restaurant in Oxford, and it's not even in Oxford! We are so proud that husband and wife owners of Grit, Angie and Nick, will cater our rehearsal dinner and wedding through their other business A & N Catering. We cannot wait to show off our small-town charm when y'all visit for the wedding!
