Philip and Megan were introduced to each other through mutual friends, Mark and Heather, both of whom are in the wedding party. At the time, neither Phil nor Megan really wanted to meet each other, and were very reluctant to do so. Little did anyone know just how well they would hit it off - instantly! The rest, as they say, is history!
Philip and Megan were on an extended vacation on the West Coast. On the first day of the trip, after many hours of travel, they made it to their first stop - The Grand Canyon. There were very unusual weather conditions for late May: cold and drizzly - with a snowstorm to follow later! They hadn't packed any winter clothes, so Megan was making do in sweatpants and sandals. Philip proposed on a rock outcropping overlooking the canyon. They were both inappropriately dressed for the weather, thick fog was obscuring the view of the canyon, and Megan sobbed uncontrollably while being photographed for the big surprise, but it was the most perfectly imperfect moment!
Philip surprised Megan after his proposal, by telling her that he had spent the last several months planning an elopement for them on their trip. He asked if she wanted to elope with him, and of course, she said yes! He had his parents on standby, in case Megan wanted witnesses present, and an officiant ready. Best of all, he had the most beautiful spot already picked out, on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Carmel, California. It was spontaneous and romantic, a truly perfect day.
Now, nearly two years later (thanks covid!), Philip and Megan are very pleased and excited to finally be able to share their nuptials with family and friends in an intimate ceremony and reception!
