We're Getting Married! ¡Nos vamos a casar!

Rujaine and Kenny had been going to the same gym for a while. They’d seen each other now and then just familiar faces among the regulars. Rujaine even remembers telling her friend Emily one day, “That guy’s really handsome.” Fast forward to Wednesday, April 10, 2024 her sister’s birthday dinner at Havana Harry’s. The family was seated at the last table along the wall when, by pure coincidence, Kenny walked in with his mom and sat at the table right in front of them. Rujaine nudged her mom and whispered, “That guy’s a regular at my gym I think he’s here with his mom.” There’s even a video from that night where her family is singing “Happy Birthday,” and Kenny appears in the background. Talk about fate! As they left the restaurant, Rujaine was holding her niece Camila’s hand when, out of nowhere, Camila stopped, tapped Kenny on the arm, and asked for a high five. He didn’t even notice Rujaine standing there. A few days later, she saw him at the gym and decided to introduce herself. “My niece gave you a high five at Havana Harry’s the other night,” she told him. Kenny looked a bit puzzled, probably wondering how she knew where he’d been. But after exchanging names, they went about their workouts. From that day on, Kenny made an effort to find Rujaine at the gym. They started having full conversations, usually on the Stairmaster, which he hated. Then one day, while she was doing hip thrusts, Kenny asked for her LinkedIn. Yes, LinkedIn. He messaged her later saying, “Here’s my number in case you ever want to talk.” She laughed and replied, “Okay… no one’s ever asked for my LinkedIn before.” Eventually, they began texting. He often invited her to grab tacos after workouts, but she kept her guard up. “I don’t date gym guys,” she’d say. “I’m not dating right now.” She came up with every excuse in the book. But one day, she gave in. They grabbed tacos “just as friends”… twice. Kenny was always respectful, never overstepping boundaries. Then one Saturday, when Rujaine had plans for a pool day with her cousin, she invited Kenny to come by. He showed up with pastelitos, croquetas, and basically a full party platter. They had such a fun day that something shifted. She started seeing him differently. That night, he told her he wanted to kiss her, but instead, he asked her out on a proper date. That date was June 23, 2024.They went to see Inside Out 2, and afterward, while walking down the hallway, Rujaine could feel the moment coming. Nervous and giggling, she anticipated their first kiss, and he kissed her teeth! LOL! But later, on a balcony with salsa music playing in the background, he kissed her again, and this time, it was perfect. From that night on, they kept seeing each other until Kenny officially asked her to be his girlfriend, even though, by then, it was already clear. From the beginning, the way he loved her made one thing certain.... Rujaine had found her person. She knew, without a doubt, that Kenny was going to be her husband.

Rujaine y Kenny iban al mismo gimnasio desde hacía tiempo. Se veían de vez en cuando, pero nada serio… solo se reconocían de vista. Ella incluso le había dicho a su amiga Emily: “Oye, ese tipo está bien lindo.” Todo cambió el 10 de abril de 2024, el cumpleaños de la hermana de Rujaine. La familia fue a celebrar a Havana Harry’s. Estaban sentados en la última mesa pegada a la pared, cuando de pronto, Kenny entró con su mamá… ¡y se sentaron justo al frente! Una coincidencia total. Rujaine le comentó a su mamá: “Ese va a mi gym. Creo que está aquí con su mamá.” Incluso hay un video donde la familia canta “Feliz Cumpleaños” y Kenny sale de fondo. El destino estaba jugando su parte. Al salir del restaurante, Rujaine iba agarrada de la mano con su sobrina Camila. De la nada, la niña se paró frente a Kenny, le tocó el brazo y le pidió un “high five.” ¡Y él ni se dio cuenta de que Rujaine estaba ahí! Unos días después, lo volvió a ver en el gimnasio y se animó a presentarse. Le dijo: “Mi sobrina te dio un high five el otro día en Havana Harry’s.” Kenny puso cara de confundido, pero se presentaron y cada uno siguió con su rutina. Después de eso, Kenny empezó a buscarla cada vez que coincidían en el gym. Se ponían a conversar en la Stairmaster (que él odiaba, por cierto). Hasta que un día, mientras ella hacía hip thrusts, él le pidió su LinkedIn. Sí, LinkedIn. Más tarde le escribió: “Aquí te dejo mi número, por si algún día quieres hablar.” A lo que ella respondió riéndose: “Nadie me había pedido el LinkedIn para eso.” Poco a poco empezaron a escribir más. Él la invitaba a comer tacos después del gym, pero Rujaine siempre ponía excusas: “No salgo con tipos del gimnasio”, “No estoy saliendo con nadie ahora.” Pero un día cedió. Fueron por tacos “como amigos”… dos veces. Kenny siempre fue un caballero, respetuoso y sin forzar nada. Un sábado, Rujaine tenía planes de piscina con su prima, que había invitado a un amigo. Entonces lo llamó y le dijo que se pasara. Kenny llegó con pastelitos, croquetas y ¡una bandeja completa de fiesta! Ese día la pasaron increíble, y algo dentro de ella cambió. Empezó a verlo con otros ojos. Esa noche, Kenny le confesó que quería besarla, pero en vez de hacerlo, le pidió una cita formal para el día siguiente. Y así fue. El 23 de junio de 2024, salieron juntos por primera vez. Fueron a ver "Inside out 2", y al salir, mientras caminaban por el pasillo, ella estaba nerviosa y riéndose porque sabía que el beso venía… y él le terminó besando los dientes jajaja. Pero más tarde, en un balcón con música de salsa de fondo, se dieron su primer beso de verdad y fue perfecto. Desde entonces, no dejaron de verse. Y aunque ya prácticamente eran pareja, él le pidió oficialmente que fuera su novia. Desde el primer momento, la forma en que él la quiso dejó claro algo: Rujaine había encontrado a su persona. Y desde ese instante, ella supo que Kenny iba a ser su esposo.
