Dan and Katie’s journey began on the dating app Hinge. Dan, always the punctual one, arrived five minutes late to their first date at Sorrelina in Hoboken. Apologizing profusely, he worried about making a bad first impression. But Katie, sitting confidently at the bar, was unfazed. She had assumed the entire date would take place there, but Dan had other plans. He suggested they move to a table, much to Katie’s initial reluctance. It was ‘flight night’ at Sorrelina, offering small samplings of various wines. As they chatted and tried to savor each sip, Dan enthusiastically shared his wine knowledge. After what felt like an eternity of slowly sipping their flights, Dan finally suggested they order a bottle. Both were relieved, and Katie, who is wonderfully talkative, began to share stories and thoughts non-stop. As she spoke, Dan found himself thinking, “I like this one.” By the end of the evening, they both knew there would be a second date. Fast forward a little over two years, and Dan proposed at the very same restaurant. The entire place erupted in cheers, and for the first time in her life, Katie was speechless.
