Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will take place in a XVIII century Villa (Villa Fassati Barba), located in the small town of Passirano in the region of Lombardy, in Italy. Passirano is situated near Lake Iseo which is between the more famous Lake Como and Lake Garda (the largest lake in Italy). While the towns in this area are smaller than major metropolitan cities close by like Milan or Brescia, being on a lake, it still has several accommodations, bars, restaurants, etc.

Question

When should I plan to arrive?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will start in the afternoon of June 7th 2025 and will continue into the night. We are also planning a welcome reception/aperitivo in the area on June 6th. Therefore, while the main wedding celebration will happen on June 7th, depending on what you may plan before or after, arriving by the morning or afternoon of June 5th would give you ample time to get acclimated (overcome some jet lag), get your dancing shoes ready, and give you a bit of flexibility from potential travel uncertainties.

Question

Are kids welcome at the event?

Answer

While we love your children, we have decided to make the ceremony and reception on June 7th an adults-only event. We would love to celebrate with everyone, but we can only accommodate a certain number of guests. Although we understand the challenges this choice may bring to some of our guests, we hope there is enough time ahead of the wedding for you to carefully consider joining us and plan accordingly.

Question

What is the best place to stay?

Answer

We have suggested a few hotel options in the "Accommodation" Section of this website; please have a look there! While shuttle buses will be organized for the wedding, we would still suggest considering hotels and apartments around the city of Iseo or along the Lake Iseo coast (such as Sarnico, Paratico, Sulzano, Clusane). Passirano, the small town where the ceremony and reception will take place, also offers good accommodation options if you want to walk back after a night of dancing! If you will not be renting a car, to get the most out of your stay, we recommend staying in the town of Iseo. You will be able to explore much more on foot during your stay this way.

Question

How do I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

On June 7th, we will have shuttles to and and from the event location from hotels and major areas. Details and information will be delivered on this as the event nears. Also, see further details in the "Travel" Section of this website under: "Getting Around in Iseo". We will have shuttles and taxis ready throughout the night to bring people back to hotels, until the end of the reception. There will be parking at the venue for those who wish to drive, but PLEASE be responsible if you decide to drive to and from the wedding event.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code could be classified as "Formal to Semi-Formal". Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. In Italian wedding traditions women guests don't wear white, black, nor red.

Question

What are some important Italian phrases while I'm in Italy?

Answer

Thank you = Grazie /grah-tsieh/ Please = Per piacere /per pee-ah-che-reh/ Hello/Goodbye = Ciao /chaw/ Ok = Va bene /vah beh-neh/ How are you? = Come stai? /coh-meh stai/ How are you (informal)/You good? = Tutto bene? /too-toh beh-neh/ Nice to meet you = Piacere (di conocerti) /pee-ah-che-reh dee con-oh-sher-ti/ I want [I would like] ice cream = Voglio [vorrei] un gelato /vol-yo oon geh-lah-toh/ I would like a glass of red/white wine = Vorrei un bicchiere di vino rosso/bianco /voh-rey oon bih-kyeh-reh dee vee-no roh-so/byan-ko/
