Anyone who knows us knows that I am the extrovert and he is the introvert, so asking Ruben to help me write this would be like asking him to wear daisy dukes at a church convention. So here is my version of how we met. I guess one could say that Ruben and I were both bitten by the "Love Bug" because we met on the dating app Bumble. I was drawn to Ruben's profile because he spoke about loving one another in all its forms with such sincerity. On Bumble, the woman makes the first move so I sent Ruben a text through the app. He texted me back immediately and asked if he could schedule a time to text back later because he was eating lunch with his girls. I don't know if it was Ruben eating lunch with his daughters or scheduling a time to text me back that left such a positive impression on me -- maybe it was both. Ruben texted me that night and each night after that. During our first phone conversation, what he referred to as "the million dollar question"...he asked me on a date. I enthusiastically said, "Yes"! We met at Istanbul Restaurant. Our conversation was effortless. After dinner, we strolled through Rice Village. That very night he asked me to be his girlfriend. Without hesitation I accepted his invitation. We didn't tell each other this until much later, but Ruben says he knew that night I would be his wife. Truth be told, I knew a day later. A year later he proposed and you know the answer to that question.
