We're Getting Married!

Ruan and Emily’s story began just weeks after Emily packed up her life and moved from Toowoomba to Adelaide at the end of 2020. Naturally, rugby played its part when Emily joined Old Collegians, a club Ruan was already part of. From that moment on, they were practically inseparable. Only a few months into dating, they decided to move to the Sunshine Coast together — the first of what would become many relocations, proving early on that these two were always up for an adventure (or at least a change of scenery). After eventually finding their way back to South Australia, they settled in Kielpa, where they welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Dustin — their greatest adventure yet. A few months later, Ruan took Emily back to the beach where they had their first date and, clearly feeling confident she couldn’t say no by then, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. One more move later, they landed in Roxby Downs, where they now live, laugh, and try to keep up with life as a busy little family.
