Maid of Honor
My sister, Ariana, is one of my best friends. While I may never stop reminding her that she successfully hid the fact that she stole my favorite purse from me for years, we've grown incredibly close over the years. Close enough to where borrowing each other's clothes isn't a sisterly annoyance, it's an excuse for a mini-fashion show. Ariana and I love our regular FaceTime calls, trying new restaurants, bonding over our love for animals & nature, acting goofy by breaking into random singing contests, and never missing a Saturday morning strength training class. Living just a 20-minute walk apart has made this season of life especially sweet. This summer, we built garden beds together and have loved bonding over every new vegetable and flower that sprouts. We're often mistaken for twins (a compliment I happily accept!), and people can rarely tell us apart on the phone (which we like to have our fun with from time to time). While Addison is my other half, Ariana is my other other half. I feel incredibly blessed to have my sister standing by my side on one of the most important days of my life. She’s truly the best.
Best Man
Growing up, baseball and golf were about the only things Dane and I could agree on. We spent years on the same fields and fairways, each driven by a competitive streak and the pursuit of a lower round or longer drive. As we moved into our careers, that common ground shifted to our shared frustrations with the dysfunctions of the public school systems we worked in. While we’ve always had those brotherly childhood competitions to look back on, it is this most recent chapter that has meant the most. We’ve found our way back to the golf course, but this time, it feels like we are finally playing as teammates rather than competing against another. It is a sincere honor to have my brother standing here as my Best Man, and I’m proud to have him by my side as I start this next journey.
