In traditional Serbian weddings, one of the longstanding customs involves a symbolic transaction known as the "buying of the bride." This ritual, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage, is not merely a financial exchange but rather a ceremonial acknowledgment of the union between families. It represents the groom's respect and commitment to the bride's family, often accompanied by playful bargaining and joyful celebration. The custom emphasizes the importance of familial bonds and the bride's value within the community, highlighting both the solemnity and the festive nature of the occasion.

While Novi Sad boasts an abundance of stunning, multi-century, cross-cultural churches, St. Nicholas Church holds a particularly special place in our hearts. It was here that Andrea was baptized in the summer following her birth. Her father, Zoran, played a pivotal role in the church's restoration, and his name can be found engraved in the marble near the entrance, a lasting tribute to his contribution. Dating back to the early 18th century, St. Nicholas Church is not only a significant historical and architectural landmark but also a site of notable personal history. It was also here that Albert Einstein and Mileva Marić had their sons, Hans Albert and Edward, baptized, further cementing the church's place in both local and international history.
